Overview

The full picture for your dentist.

Dental X-rays are taken on a machine called an orthopantomograph (OPG). It lets the radiographer X-ray your whole mouth, giving your dentist vital information about the health of your teeth and jaw.

An OPG shows the number, position and growth of all your teeth, including those that haven't come through yet.

All of GIG Radiology's OPG machines use low-dose technology, significantly reducing radiation exposure. All OPG X-ray services are bulk billed.

Dental imaging we offer

From panoramic to 3D.

  • (01)All six clinics

    OPG

A single panoramic X-ray of your whole mouth, teeth and jaw (general digital orthopantomography).

  • (02)

    Lateral cephalometry

Digital lateral cephalometry: a side-on X-ray of your head and jaw.

  • (03)

    TMJ imaging

Imaging of the temporomandibular joints, which connect your jaw to your skull.

  • (04)Officer & Rosebud

    Cone beam CT

A quick, non-invasive scan that gives 3D information rather than the 2D image of a conventional OPG. A cone-shaped X-ray beam captures data that's reconstructed into a 3D image of your teeth, mouth, jaw and neck.
